Bodegas Ateca is a project of Gil Family Estates in the D.O.Calatayud. The wineyard, planted on slate soil on sites at higher elevations of the area is made up mainly of small parcels of old vines of the variety Grenache, some of the principles of the twentieth century. It is placed around the hillsides of the mountains of Ateca and the surroundings villages.
 

The winemaking is directed by Michael Kyberd, Australian winemaker with extensive experience in this variety that has worked with it in his native country.
 

The wines of Bodegas Ateca are the result of a precise grape selection work following organoleptic and analytical quality criteria and harvesting at the appropriate ripeness moment.
