Coming from an old French family producing wine since the XIII Century, Isabelle and René Barbier introduced the potential richness of terroir in Spain. Therefore and also for its remarkable landscape, they settled in Priorat in 1979 and created, together with their young son René Barbier Meyer, the unique Spanish wine qualified as “Vino de finca qualificada D.O.Q. Priorat”, the best of the best, also recognized by Brussels. Clos Mogador is named after a novel written by René’s great aunt called “Les Gens de Mogador” describing her family’s life at the foot of Mont Ventoux. The story was subsequently televised and became famous in France. Making wine in this region is an act of love so finally Clos Mogador aged wines provide huge pleasure to wine lovers.
