Tadeo Cortijo Los Aguilares
Product Description
This wine has been selected from the ten best new barrels
of Petit Verdot, some of which were fermented in 500-litre-partially-
open butts, all with malolactic fermentation taking
place in the butt.
Named after a saint which attracts much devotion in Spain
(the owner’s wife is a strong believer in it, one of his sons and
grandson are also called Tadeo), this wine has a high minerality
and balsamic element but, as with all their products, it
is elegant and at the same time rather complex. Above all, the
natural acidic level that results from the 900 metre altitude
of the Tadeo responds to the best selection of barrels of Petit
Verdot, completed an exceptional result of an intense work in
the vineyard to get the best wine.
This French grape variety has adapted itself perfectly to the
unusual climate and soil of the Sierra de Ronda, since with
a long growing cycle it is always the last variety to harvest,
usually as late as early November. The barrel fermentation
