Product Description
Pittacum reflects the perfect heritage of the Romans path
through Spain. Named after the archeological remains of a
Baccus medallion (God of wine) found in the vineyards.
Pittacum is the result of the “savoir-faire” of generations of
winemakers from Bierzo valley. Farming 190 plots in 45
hectares, carrying an engineered viticulture process by winemaker
Alfredo Marqués, where 85 years-old Mencía vines
lay out.
The result is an outstanding 100% Mencía wine with long,
ine, extremely silky thread of fruit tannin all the way down
the palate. Spicy as a Cabernet franc, yet fresh, with the Atlantic
inluence of a Pinot noir.
One of the best rated Mencías in the world, only over passed
by his eldest brother, Pittacum Aurea.
