Product Description
Cos Pes meaning “con los pies = with feet” is a foot trodden Albariño which spends several months on skins prior to pressing and settling. It is another great example of a new, limited production white wine made by Rodrigo Mendez. It is produced from a single vineyard with vines averaging between 40 and 50 years. The location is near to the sea, the soil is sandy containing many pebbles over granite bedrock. It is a very poor, fast draining soil where vines struggle in and diseases such as phylloxera have no chance to survive. Hence a few vines even made it up to almost 200 years of age!
Rodrigo applies very artesanal wine making techniques, he is collaborating with Raul Perez in many of his wines. The wines are fermented with natural yeasts and and aged in used oak barrels.
